Small National Political Review
During the decades of the 30s until the half century, Colombia had the most significant changes in its constitutional history, the power of the state had been concentrated in the hands of the conservatives for many years, however, the division of these led to the election of a president different from the one we were conditioned by the shameless support and influenced by the current presidency that was going to leave power, a system similar to the political inheritance. Thanks to the arrival of Alfonso López Pumarejo to the presidency, the individualistic vision of the rule of law system began to have other perspectives and public policies with a social focus, thus being the first vestiges of the system of social rule of law in the territory. Colombian.
The constitutional reforms carried out in this period marked a before and after in the consciousness of the people and their relationship with the state; The adherence of women to the technical and university study allowed a bit of inclusion and gender equality, the implementation of the vote for the "poor" was something that resulted in the acquisition of a national identity, however, it led to a violent period for the political ideology so much so that the records show more than 200 deaths per year between liberals and conservatives. These communist ideologies that sought to reduce inequality a little had their focus on the vulnerable population of the territory; We can see this in the agrarian reform, which somewhat limited the difference in colonial territorial power over the population, implementing the delivery of property titles by tradition and exploitation of the sector, however, with this implementation the landowners sought a legal solution to not to lose the large magnitude of their territories with livestock (the title was only given for constant crops such as coffee, sugarcane and / or cotton).
We can see this very marked today in the lands of the Valley, with the hectares and hectares of cane crops of the sugar mills (I am referring to the inequality of territory). Although I dedicate a certain part to these reforms, there is one that marked and that still has repercussions today; State support for the unions was very present in these years, however, there was a moment when all this social and political evolution was interrupted, that support that the public unions had received became obsolete. The state decided to eliminate that support and directed it to the unions of private companies.
The revolution in progress continued in the second presidential term of Pumarejo, however, the pause divided the political wills and limited the very precise evolution that was taking place. In his second term he was very absent from his post and this also hurt some reforms that they wanted to establish. Thanks to this paradigm shift of the state and its action, the vulnerable population of the country had access to education and health. The elimination of the church in relation to education allowed a cognitive advance in society, the implementation of the national radio also allowed an entry of concepts and ideas that were only received through newspapers that were managed by political wills. Colombian society was able to open its eyes a little and realize the world reality and the national reality.
